Hello everyone, as you may know already my name is Anthony Aniciete, and I am proud to say once again thank you and I accept the title of being the College Athlete of the Month for the State of Nevada. I am going into my Redshirt Sophomore year at Tiffin University in Ohio, and still I am pursuing a Major in Criminal Justice in Law Enforcement and still aiming for that Minor in Homeland Security. Being one of the few athletes to be granted this award for the third time throughout my wrestling career is very awesome, and it only pushes me more and more throughout my college career. |

As the season kicks off, my college wrestling career is off to an exciting and promising start. In the Preseason Rankings, I was initially ranked 8th in the Nation. However, through dedication and hard work, I have climbed the rankings to as high as 5th in the Nation, defeating several highly-ranked opponents along the way. With a current record of 15-2, I am more motivated than ever to push my limits and continue improving. My ultimate goal is nothing less than standing at the top of the podium by the end of March, and every match is a step closer to achieving that dream. |

My most recent moment so far this season has to be at the Midwest Classic which is like the Mid-Season National Tournament. I wrestled really well with getting to all of the things I wanted to get to, and wrestling like I had a chip on my shoulder. With being the 3rd seed of the tournament, I ended up with a 4th place finish beating the current #1 wrestler at my weight in the Quarters and other ranked wrestlers in the backside. My team made some great jumps as well with coming into that tournament. We went from the 21st ranked team to jumping to the 8th ranked team in the Nation. |

I am deeply honored to be named NVSportsLocal’s College Athlete of the Month and sincerely thank you for this recognition. It’s a meaningful reminder of the roots that have shaped me into the wrestler and individual I am today. Representing Nevada on the National Stage is a privilege, and I remain committed to pursuing excellence in both academics and athletics. Your support and encouragement mean so much to me, and I am truly grateful. |
