Zaiden Michael Hill was born on May 28, 2010, in Elko, Nevada. Like many young athletes, he began his sports journey in the world of tee-ball, league basketball, and soccer. However, wrestling quickly captured his interest, inspired by his older uncles who competed at the high school level.

At just seven years old, Zaiden’s passion for the sport took hold, and by seven and a half, he stepped onto the mat with the Elko Wrestling Club. From that moment on, wrestling became more than just a sport—it became a way of life.

In 2019, at the age of nine, Zaiden and his family relocated to Reno, where he joined Nevada Elite Wrestling—the very team whose athletes had outperformed him at the Nevada State Championship the previous season. Rather than being discouraged, Zaiden saw it as an opportunity to grow and challenge himself against the best.

Nevada Elite Wrestling quickly became more than just a training ground; it became home. Within its walls, Zaiden found a wrestling family—one that has shared in every tear, defeat, and triumph along the way. His dedication, resilience, and love for the sport continue to fuel his journey, pushing him toward greater heights on and off the mat.

Zaiden has experienced many successes at the local, regional, and even national levels, proving himself as a formidable competitor. Yet, he remains focused on the bigger picture—his dream of becoming a Division 1 wrestler. With an unwavering commitment to both his academics and continuous improvement in the wrestling room, he pushes himself every day, determined to make that dream a reality.

Beyond his own wrestling career, Zaiden also gives back to his community’s youth wrestlers. Since 6th grade, he has served as a youth referee for the Sierra Wrestling Association, officiating at regional youth wrestling tournaments throughout the season. This role allows him to stay involved in the sport from another perspective while helping younger wrestlers develop their own skills and passion for the sport.

Zaiden is incredibly thankful for every teammate who has ever been his partner and pushed him, every wrestling parent or family who has stood in his corner cheering him on, and—most importantly—his coaches. He knows he can be a pain in their rear at times, but they continue to push him to be his best. Coach Mumm, Coach Sully, and all of the Nevada Elite coaches have stood by his side, encouraging him through the good days and the hard days. Their unwavering support and guidance have played a huge role in shaping him into the wrestler and person he is today.

And above all, Zaiden especially wants to thank his mom. She has been his biggest supporter, always believing in his dreams and doing whatever it takes to help him chase them. From the countless miles driven daily to practices, to traveling across state lines for tournaments—especially during COVID—she has never wavered in her support. She has always known that he is made for something great, and her belief in him fuels his drive to succeed. Zaiden Michael Hill is a name to watch in the world of wrestling—a testament to hard work, perseverance, and an unbreakable will to succeed.
