My name is Vander Tran. I am a 16-year-old sophomore currently attending SLAM Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I also train at Gold Rush Wrestling Academy. I most recently competed at 106 pounds.

I started wrestling when I was nine years old with Pistol Pete’s Wrestling Club. The following year, Chase Pami from Gold Rush Wrestling Academy took over, and I have been with him ever since. From the moment I began, I was drawn into the high level of competitiveness the sport of wrestling requires. As I continued to wrestle, I realized the sport is not simply about winning or losing; it’s about hard work, resilience, and determination.

Wrestling has profoundly helped me grow as a person. Over time, I have become more confident both on and off the mat. I’ve learned to keep pushing forward when things get difficult, and I’ve developed discipline and accountability, learning that my effort directly impacts my results. These lessons have not only made me a better wrestler but have also shaped me into a stronger, more focused individual in my everyday life.

Throughout my high school wrestling career, I placed 3rd at the 2025 Nevada 5A State Championships. In 2026, I became the 5A Nevada State Champion, sharing that special moment with my sister. In the off-season, I frequently travel to national tournaments in states including California, Utah, Arizona, and Iowa. While traveling, I’ve competed in major events like Super 32 and Fargo. Wrestling against top talent across the country has continually challenged me to grow and adapt my style.

In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I maintain a 3.7 weighted GPA. I am grateful for God, who inspires me each and every day. Finally, I thank my teammates for pushing me, my coaches for shaping me into the wrestler I am today, and my family for always supporting me..
