Continuation from Then until NOW!
It has been a pretty crazy career for me here at UVU. I have had some ups and a lot of, lets call them, bumps in the road. One thing that has remained clear is my end goal of being a National Champion, and I am confident that I am on the path to reach that goal.

I’ve been wrestling here at UVU now for the past four years, and I’ve learned a lot and grown as a wrestler, and person, tremendously. I feel that now I’m in a better place than I have ever been. I’ve competed these past three years at 133 and 141 pounds, all while regaining my strength and continuing to grow. My 2020-2021 year of competing at 133 I qualified for Nationals, and I beat some ranked guys throughout the season. I tore my mcl in my 7th Place Match at BIG 12’s and decided to wrestle through it at Nationals. Although I didn’t have the showing that I necessarily wanted, I learned a lot from that experience and felt the craziness of being at the NCAA Championships. It was truly phenomenal.

These past two years competing at 141 I have been working on finding a diet and pre weigh-in routine that will work for my body and health situation, and last year I started to figure it out more. Unfortunately both years ended not the way I wanted them to either, but both years I had a few Top 10 ranked wins and learned a lot. Approaching this year my number one goal is to feel strong, as well as healthy, all through the year. Seven minutes is a long time to wrestle, and I want to feel great throughout the whole thing! My goals remain the same and this year I plan on putting myself on that award stand.

In my personal life I have nothing but gratitude. My family is healthy and happy, which is all that matters! Many of you know my uncles and grandfather, they have been by my side throughout my entire life on and off the mat. They are doing well, and I am extremely grateful for that. I’ve been blessed enough to marry a wife that is way out of my league, but I am thankful for every second I get to spend with her. She’s been with me through the hardest points in my life, and I wouldn’t be here today without her. I’ve been lucky enough to do many of the things I love here at UVU, like hunting and fishing, really just about anything outdoors.

Overall I have had a pretty good past couple of years and plan on making this next year a memorable one!
