Hello! I’m Mika Yoffee, the middle child in a lively family of five. My passions include music, photography, and crocheting. Music was my first love; as a kid, I dreamt of pursuing a singing career. Since then, I’ve expanded my musical abilities by learning instruments like the piano and ukulele, and I continue to sing and make song covers with friends. Outside of music, you might find me crocheting a new hat while waiting for a mat assignment, or taking action shots of my friends wrestling with my DSLR camera.

Wrestling holds a significant place in my life, and I also enjoy volunteering, meeting new people, and spending time with my family and friends. My wrestling journey began in November 2017 in Pahrump with the Pahrump Jr. Trojans, where I had my first exposure to Folkstyle wrestling. I distinctly remember learning my sit-out switch from Coach Ray Cortez, a move I still utilize today. My first weigh-in was particularly memorable as I was the only girl present. Wrestling has truly allowed me to achieve levels I never thought possible, transforming me from a scared 9-year-old who wouldn’t step on the mat without her big brother into a confident athlete.

My dedication and hard work have consistently paid off. This year, I earned All-American status at the National High School Showcase, in addition to becoming a two-time State and Southern Regional Champion. The unwavering support from my family has been absolutely crucial to my success in wrestling. Without their love and encouragement, along with the robust support system my team provides, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Growing up, opportunities for girls in wrestling were fewer, meaning I often competed against boys until my freshman year. Despite occasionally overhearing discouraging remarks, I persevered. Today, girls’ wrestling has significantly blossomed, and I’m proud to have contributed to its growth. I plan to continue wrestling in college and aspire to reach the pinnacle of the sport. While I haven’t committed to a university yet, I’m currently enrolled in a high school college program, pursuing an associate’s degree with plans to major in business.

I serve as the Senior Class President for the Class of 2026 at my school, and I am a two-year Varsity Wrestling Team Captain. I enjoy being active and deeply involved in community and school events as a member of the student council and executive board. I assist my mom with clothing swaps to aid those who may be less fortunate and help my father pack backpacks for children who can’t afford school supplies. I am incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been presented and eagerly anticipate what the future has in store!
