Hello, my name is Makenzi Boss, and I am 9 years old. I love my family; my brother and sister are my best friends. I’m always hanging out with my cousins and family. I love sports, and playing outside. I also like playing games online. I am what you call a total tomboy. My mother is my biggest supporter no matter what I try to accomplish. My family is big and always gives the best advice, and they don’t hold anything back. This makes me a stronger person. I wrestle for Gold Rush Wrestling Academy, and I love all my Coaches and friends there. Coach Chase, Coach Sorgani, and Coach Jake really push me hard to be the best I can be.
I started wrestling right before I turned 7. I was a really shy, non-verbal person. I only talked to my family. My mom decided to throw me in my Uncle Chase’s Gym to help me talk and make friends. Little did she know that once I stepped on that mat, I would fall in love with wrestling. Wrestling has given me the confidence to approach and make new friends. I’m one of the top readers at my grade level in school. I have a lot of friends and have made a lot of memories by doing the sport I love most.
I started traveling this past year for tournaments, and I loved every aspect of it. I started doing duals for Team Nevada, and doing National Tournaments with my Teammates. Here are some of the ones I have done: 2022 Nevada State Champion in Freestyle, Folkstyle, Greco Girls Division 2022 Nevada Regional Champion 2022 Salt Lake Slam 2nd place 2022 Christmas Clash Duals 2022 Kevin Randleman 4th Place 2023 Nevada State Champion In Freestyle and Folkstyle 2023 Nevada Regional Champion Freestyle and Folkstyle and 3rd Place in Greco 2023 Nevada State Champion 2nd Place 2023 Reno Worlds 5th Place 2023 USA Women National 2nd Place 2023 Kevin Randleman Champion Girls Division 2023 Turf Wars Duals went 8-2 for Nevada 2023 Western States 4th Place
I have many goals I want to achieve on and off the mat. I want to be a USA Gold Medal Olympian one day, and I also want to become a Scientist. I can’t wait to see how far I go in this sport. I want to do the impossible and with that, comes lots of training. I am ready to work hard and make my name known.
