My name is Madison Gracie Rivera. I am sixteen years old and a Junior at West Wendover high. I have been wrestling for three years now, but I have been competing in Jiu-Jitsu since I was eight years old. I was born and raised in Wendover, Nevada. I am the middle of 3 sisters; my older sister, Emma, is 21; my youngest sister Claire, is ten.

My father, who is also my coach, has been training me in MMA for the last eight years. I am a Ten-Time NAGA (North American Grappling Association) Champion in Utah. I also hold the International Kickboxing Federation Title for Utah as well. I have kept myself busy all these years, constantly playing sports or riding my four wheeler, actually since I was a baby.

I currently hold a 3.8gpa, and I plan to attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas(UNLV) after high school. I would like to thank every single coach that has helped me from the beginning; Joe Rivera (my dad), Frank Hernandez, my current Head Coach Tyler Olson, Steve Graham, and Lusio Gonzales. I would also not be the wrestler I am without all of my teammates, especially Faith and Destiny Gonzales. Thank you West Wendover High School (WWHS) wrestling team. And last but certainly not least, I would like to thank my Mom, Amanda, who has always been one of my biggest supporters. Thanks Mom!

A note about Madison from her coaches.
“Gracie (Madison) is one for the hardest working wrestlers at practice. Her work ethic is remarkable, and her drive to learn and improve is unbelievable. She is a true team leader and a very valuable asset to the wrestling program at West Wendover High School. She has been outstanding as one of the Team Captains, and she is truly an example for the members of her team, and the other students around her.”
