A way of life… you’ll see this sentiment on t-shirts, posters, and mission statements. Sounds like a good thing to say, has a good ring to it, but a rare few actually live it. For Lucas Reynolds Forman wrestling is a way of life. I think back to his first takedown at the age of five, and we all agreed he had found his sport. Lucas has a special zest for life, but his drive and determination are not out overshadowed by his quick wits. Growing up in in a household with two older brothers, that wrestle, Luc had great role models and learned a fearlessness and a toughness that he carries with him every day.

Lucas had early success at the local level, building great confidence in his natural talent. State tournaments were the first goal this young man set his sights on. Lucas has won seven Nevada State Championships including two Triple Crowns requiring him to wrestle all three styles; Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco. Lucas would tell you his favorite thing about those state titles was that at the age of nine, he became the youngest referee to officiate in a Nevada State tournament.

Very few sports train our youth from the ground up with an opportunity to give back as wrestling does. The sport of wrestling is intricate with nuance, and yet so physically demanding. It requires a sacrifice and focus that is unmatched by any other sport. In today’s world our youth are facing difficult challenges pulling them further away from what makes them who they are, who they want to become, and what they can achieve. We are so very proud of Lucas and the sacrifices he’s made so far, along his journey in the sport of wrestling. The relationships he’s formed with other wrestlers and their families, along his travels, are priceless.

Traveling to tournaments has become one our family’s favorite thing to do, and wrestling has quickly taken over most aspects of our life. Lucas is constantly on the look out for the next tournament and planning our trips, always with amazing eats. Luc has visited 15 total states in the U.S. while collecting 25 national titles, and multiple All-American honors along the way. Lucas is a two time Reno World Champion and two time World All-Star team member. On the west coast Rocky Mountain Nationals is one of his favorite circuits to wrestle. Lucas is a fourteen time RMN champ, collecting their series of special awards including the coveted Ring of Fame.

Each time Lucas steps up to a new age and weight, it’s not without bumps and bruises. We always say it’s what you do after a loss that makes you a champion! There is always someone better and a new level to reach. The old adage you learn more from a loss than you do from a win, could not prove to be more true than in the sport of wrestling. Becoming a great young man means more than any awards or podiums. Lucas has a kind heart and thinks of others before himself; he’s fierce and won’t take no for an answer! Anyone who reads this should understand your goals are attainable and anything great in life requires an equal sacrifice. Lucas… keep your head down low and your hopes up high as you make your way through life.
