My name is Jackson Walker, and I am a sophomore at Spring Valley High School. I am thrilled to be featured as the NVSportsLocal Athlete of the Month. I started wrestling in 2019, and ever since, I have been fully committed to the sport. Over the past seven years, I have dedicated all my energy to mastering fundamentals, growing stronger, and working hard. Having evolved significantly since my days as a beginner, I am now ready to make a real impact in my weight class. |

| A major factor in my improvement is the time I have spent training with two exceptional clubs: LV Bears Wrestling and the Aniciete Training Club. At LV Bears, I built a strong foundation in wrestling basics, positioning, and mat toughness. At Aniciete Training Club, high-level coaching refined my hand-fighting skills, technique, and strategy. Training at both locations provided me with diverse partners and prepared me for the demands of high school varsity competition. |

| My grandmother inspires me daily to be a better person and a stronger wrestler. Her unwavering belief in me drives my commitment to academic and athletic excellence. I also strive to be a positive role model for my younger brother. Beyond my family, I am deeply grateful to my coaches—Coach Manny, Alex, Nap, Meyers, and Val—for pushing my limits, sharpening my skills, and teaching me mental and physical resilience. |

| To continually challenge myself, I seek out the toughest competition by traveling across the country for major national tournaments and elite wrestling camps. Competing against the best athletes in the U.S. keeps me focused on my high school goals: winning a Nevada state championship and helping Spring Valley become the top team. Looking ahead, I plan to continue my wrestling and academic career in college, striving daily to earn a degree while competing at the collegiate level. |
