Hi! My name is Bella Mir. I am a wrestler and professional MMA fighter at 18 years old. I wrestle at Centennial Highschool in Las Vegas, Nevada under Don McGregor. He has been coaching me since my Sophomore year. I didn’t get serious with wrestling until my Sophomore year, after transferring from Bishop Gorman High School to Centennial High School. I heard from a friend that the best wrestling coach, in the state of Nevada, was going to Centennial as the new head coach.

After hearing the good news, my family and I decided to transfer and have full commitment into the sport of wrestling. Wrestling for Centennial made me such a better wrestler than I was before, winning my third State title as a Sophomore. I won my first State Title in 8th grade, competing in the High School Girls Division and pinning my way through the Finals, and becoming the youngest girls State Champion in Nevada. Not only did it make me better in the state of Nevada, it made me better out of the girls in the country.

I went to Folkstyle Nationals in Iowa in March of 2021. I went up in weight to 152 lbs, and I won my first ever National Title. I pinned my way through the Finals, even after I had been losing 8-0 in the Finals! I came back in the second period pinning my opponent. I won the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award of the tournament, out of all the girls competing. Seeing that I can compete with the top girls in the country has given me confidence that I can reach my goals of being a World and Olympic Champion.

During the Covid outbreak all sports shut down including wrestling, but MMA was still going on, only for professionals though. I had my first Professional Fight in October of 2020, and my second Professional Fight in December of 2020, right before Nationals for wrestling. My first fight was won via Unanimous Decision, and my second fight was won via Submission in the First Round. I am now 2-0 as a Pro and wish to have another fight coming soon. Seeing myself grow in these two sports makes me want to accomplish more. I hope to achieve my goals one day, and I am glad to have my family, friends, and coaches by my side on this ride to the top

I just won the State Title at the NIAA’s (Nevada Interscholastic Activites Association) First All Girls State Tournament. I pinned my opponent in 17 seconds in the Finals. I look forward to what my future holds. I will be making my college commitment soon, and heading to Fargo this summer.
