I’m Dominic Marmolejo. I’m 11 years old. I was born in Denver, Colorado and have lived in Las Vegas since 2018. I have two brothers, Marcus and Devon, and a sister, Bianca. I’ve been wrestling for two years now. I’ve played baseball and football, but I know I was born to be a wrestler. I wrestle for Aniciete Training Club. My love for wrestling began after my very first time stepping on the mat. One of my favorite things about wrestling is the competition for sure. Nothing is given or guaranteed for anyone and anyone can be beat; I love that. The other favorite thing is to be able to wrestle along with my sister Bianca.
Although I started wrestling a little later than most, I wrestled over 100 matches my first year and continued with a busy year. That helped so much coming into year two. My favorite tournaments so far are MWP Star Wars because it was outdoors and at night, and Western States Championships because it was all three styles. I love to travel and wrestle. It feels like it’s just me against everyone out there, and I can make friends that I would of never met, if it wasn’t for wrestling. My favorite style of wrestling is Greco because I love the throws, but I just love wrestling period. I’ll wrestle anyone; I don’t care how much bigger and I don’t care if I get my butt kicked because it always makes me better.
Thanks to all my coaches and family for all the love they give to me I love you guys. I ended the year at Western States Championships where I finished; Greco- 1st place and outstanding wrestler Freestyle- 1st place and outstanding wrestler Folkstyle- 2nd place I also won the Nevada State Title, and I was outstanding wrestler in my Division.
