Carter began wrestling at age four, and began competing at age 6. Carter wrestled for the Fallon Outlaws before moving to Reno, Nevada in 2013 and joining Hard Work Academy. Carter currently wrestles with Silver State Wrestling Academy and attends Bishop Manogue Catholic High School as a junior.
 
Over his high school career, Carter has placed at MidCals, Reno Tournament of Champions, Sierra Nevada Classic, Freakshow, WOW Reno Worlds, and many other high level tournaments. He is a regional finalist, regional champion, and two-time state finalist.
 
This summer Carter placed 3rd at the Rocky Mountain Nationals Freakshow and had a record of 6-2 at the Super 32 (the toughest preseason tournament in the country), finishing in the top 16. Carter is currently ranked #22 in the country at 113lbs by MatScouts.
