Bliss Moody was born in the small town of South Lake Tahoe. Her parents, Shelby and Matthew, had their roots in vastly different parts of the country. Bliss’ mom is from California and dad is from Ohio. Over the years her family has moved quite a bit and has lived in about 14 houses all together. Moving has taught her so many lessons about patience and willingness. She has been able to experience so many things because her parents have always supported her decisions. They always encouraged both her and her sister, Madeline, to pursue their passions.

For Bliss, she had a passion for sports, and it started with soccer, which she started playing at just five years old. In middle school, she stumbled upon another sport that would change her life, Wrestling. The adrenaline rush of walking on the mat for the first time changed her life completely. The strategy and sheer physicality drew her in like nothing she had ever experienced. Throughout middle school that is all she thought about. Even though she was still playing multiple other sports: Soccer, Track, Cross Country, and Volleyball; Wrestling was all she wanted to do.

Once Bliss got into high school, she really started to get competitive in sports. She decided she would do soccer, wrestling, and track. Little did she know that she would find so much success and valuable lessons in each sport. She has learned how to completely change her mindset within a week to adapt to the different environments of each sport. Bliss was the first female wrestler from Douglas to medal at the Sierra Nevada Classic(2nd) and the Reno Tournament of Champions(4th). She also placed Second in the first ever All Girls Northern Regional Tournament.

Bliss learned that pouring her heart and soul into working hard every day at practice will result in getting to the podium in Wrestling. For Track and Field, she learned to be a leader and a mentor. She currently holds the Long Jump and 4×100 School Records. She takes a lot of pride in the accomplishment of setting the bar, and those school records, and achievements.

As she started the cusp of adulthood, her dreams evolved. She set her sights on early graduation from high school, fueled by the desire for higher education and new opportunities for sports and a career as a Game Warden. Bliss is on track to graduate a year early as a Junior. This opportunity has challenged her in so many ways, not only on the educational side, but it has changed how she balances her social and school life.

Her journey has been shaped by passion, family support, and a determination to shatter stereotypes and break records. Bliss’ story is far from over, and she is determined to show everyone that she can complete all her dreams and desires. The road ahead promises new adventures, challenges, and dreams…one goal or one record at a time.
