Hi, My name is Billie Bonwell. I am now 17 years old and a Junior in High school. I attend SLAM Academy in Henderson, NV. I have been wrestling for three years now. I still train Jiu-Jitsu when I get a break from wrestling practice and traveling. I have completing fallen in love with the sport of wrestling..

Since my Freshman year there has been huge improvements in my technique and placements at tournaments. I recently became an All-American at Women’s Nationals in both U17 and U20. I was also Runner-Up this year at the US Open where I had gone 0-2 last year. I went through some hardships this season with injuries and lack of motivation, but thank you to my dad, and my wrestling family, for getting me back on my track and pushing me to be the best. I was ranked #29 in the country at the beginning of the season, and I am now currently ranked #14 at 170.

I would like to give some appreciation to my dad, William Bonwell, for being my rock throughout the worst and best times of this season. Also thanks so much to my Amazing grandfather for sponsoring me and making these experiences possible. Thank you to my coaches Bill Sullivan and David Mackey, for being in my corner, and pushing me to be the best version of myself on the mats.

And finally a huge thank you to Walter Cascao and my Jiu Jitsu family for putting in the extra hours with me and perfecting the mistakes that have been made. After graduating next year, I plan to attend college and continue my wrestling career. My plan is to major in Speech pathology.
