My name is Bella Coronado I am in 11th grade and have been wrestling for about three years. I wrestle at McQueen High School and Nevada Elite. I am thankful for all my coaches: Mumm, Sully, Staggs, and Deleon. I started wrestling because my brother Abraham Coronado started and because our dad introduced it to us. It was Covid, and I wanted something to get me in shape because I was weighing about 150 pounds, and I am only 5’0″. Next thing you know I started to enjoy it.

Wrestling has done a lot for me. It has helped me grow as a person, daughter, and student. Not only has it made grow mentally but physically as well. I went from having to put pounds of makeup on every day to feeling more confident and comfortable in my skin.

My journey has led me to travel a lot. There have been many bumps in the road as well. When I first started, I was struggling to keep up because I was unconditioned, but as I kept going to practice I started to get the hang of it. My parents had to honestly push me to go to practice, but I am thankful for it. My goals have gone from getting in shape and having something to do during Covid, to trying to go to college with the help of wrestling. My goals for this high school season are to place at most tournaments I go to. Also, this season I really want to mentally grow. I want to be more confident.

My accomplishments have been that I have placed at some National Level Tournaments. For example, I am a multi-time All American. Rumble in Reno is where I won my first belt. At Reno Worlds I took 7th. At Western States 2023 I took 2nd in all styles, and I have placed at many other tournaments. But, what I feel is my biggest accomplishment is growing as a person and a wrestler. Can’t wait for what the future has to bring, and I will keep putting in the work. –Sincerely Bella
