Hello, my name is Anthony Aniciete, and it is with immense gratitude that I accept the honor of being named the College Athlete of the Month for the state of Nevada. As a Redshirt Freshman at Tiffin University in Ohio, where I am pursuing a major in Criminal Justice in Law Enforcement and aiming for a minor in Homeland Security, this recognition fills me with pride and motivation to continue pushing myself both academically and athletically.
Reflecting on my journey thus far, the transition from Las Vegas to Ohio has been nothing short of transformative. While Nevada will always hold a special place in my heart, the opportunity to explore new horizons and immerse myself in diverse experiences has been truly eye-opening. Every day in Ohio presents a fresh adventure, and I am deeply grateful for the wealth of opportunities and knowledge that come my way.
My passion for wrestling has been a driving force in my life, and I am proud of my accomplishments in my first official season of college wrestling. With a record of 30-6, a National Ranking of #10 at 125 lbs, and victories in both my Conference Title and Second Place in the Regional Tournament, I have proven my capabilities on the mat. While falling short of my ultimate goal of becoming an All-American was disappointing, the experience has only fueled my determination to come back stronger and achieve that dream.
The National Tournament was a defining moment for me, revealing the depth of my drive and resilience in the face of challenges. I am confident in my ability to compete at the highest level and am committed to reaching new heights in my wrestling career. I am deeply indebted to the wrestling community, both in Nevada and beyond, for their unwavering support. From the encouragement of my parents to the outpouring of positivity on social media, your belief in me fuels my motivation to succeed. I carry the spirit of Nevada with me in every match, drawing strength from the collective support of my hometown.
Once again, I extend my heartfelt thanks for selecting me as Nevada’s College Athlete of the Month. This recognition serves as a reminder of the roots that have shaped me into the wrestler and person I am today. I am honored to represent Nevada on the National Stage and will continue to strive for excellence in both academics and athletics. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement—it means the world to me.
