My name is Juliana Alejandro, and I am 20 years old. Wrestling has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, shaping not only my athletic career but also the person I am today. My love for the sport grew stronger throughout high school. I achieved one of my biggest goals by winning the Nevada Girls State Championship during both my junior and senior years. My senior season was particularly memorable, as I went undefeated with a 47-0 record. That year, and the years of hard work leading up to it, reflected the discipline, preparation, and mental toughness I had built.

After high school, I continued wrestling at Tiffin University. Collegiate wrestling brought a new level of intensity and responsibility, quickly pushing me to grow as both an athlete and a student. Unfortunately, my freshman year in 2023 was cut short when I tore my UCL and dislocated my elbow during a match. The injury ended my season immediately and forced me into a full focus on recovery and rehabilitation. This was one of the hardest challenges I have faced, testing my patience, resilience, and mental toughness. Being sidelined made me appreciate wrestling even more and strengthened my determination to return stronger.

After recovering, I continued competing at Tiffin and reached a major milestone in 2025 by qualifying for the NCAA National Championships. Making it to nationals was a huge accomplishment that proved I could compete at the highest collegiate level while overcoming setbacks.

After two years at Tiffin, I transferred to William Jewell College, where I continue to grow both on and off the mat. Since joining, I have been fortunate to have coaches and teammates who push me every day. My coaches hold me accountable, challenge me to improve, and believe in my potential. My teammates create a competitive but supportive environment where we motivate each other and celebrate successes together. Being part of this team has strengthened my confidence, work ethic, and leadership skills.

Academically, I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. Balancing college athletics with schoolwork has taught me time management, discipline, and strong communication skills. I am passionate about learning how organizations grow, build brands, and connect with people, skills I plan to apply in my future career.

Looking ahead, I remain focused on growing as both an athlete and a person. Wrestling has taught me resilience, dedication, and the value of hard work. The lessons I’ve learned—including trusting the process, overcoming challenges, and believing in myself—will guide me no matter where life takes me.
