Wrestling has been a significant part of my life since I was 11 years old. My journey began with Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a discipline my father actively competed in. Watching him on the mat ignited a spark in me—his passion and dedication were truly inspiring. It wasn’t long before I decided to follow in his footsteps and try my hand at wrestling.

I joined the wrestling team at Douglas High School, where I dedicated countless hours to honing my skills and technique. The countless hours of training and hard work paid off as I qualified for the Nevada state tournament three times. Unfortunately, my senior year ended in disappointment. During the regional finals match, I suffered a broken arm, shattering my dreams of competing at the state level.

Losing my senior year state opportunity was a difficult pill to swallow. It was a stark reminder that every match could be your last, and that injuries are an unfortunate reality of the sport. However, instead of letting this setback defeat me, I used it as motivation to come back stronger. The broken arm fueled my determination to become a better wrestler, and it solidified my decision to continue wrestling in college.

After graduating high school, I committed to wrestle for Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. The transition from high school to college wrestling was challenging. The competition was fiercer, the training more intense, and the expectations higher. But I was determined to succeed. I put in the work, pushed my limits, and eventually earned the starting position at 184 pounds.
