Fast forwarding two and a half years and I’m now a Junior at St. Ambrose, and like I said before, it has been tough out here for sure. With that being said, I have had some of the best times of my life, so I wouldn’t want it any other way. Here are a few updates on my wrestling career and my life in college.

Freshman year was a big learning year for me in wrestling, I didn’t have many achievements, but drastic improvements could be seen from being in an environment where everyone is there to get better every day. I Went to the National Tournament as a practice partner and got to see the “Big Show” which was an experience and an eye opener for where I needed to be.

Sophomore year things ended between my girlfriend of 3* years as I mentioned before (shoutout Indiana Tech). I finally settled on being a Computer Science Major which is challenging but in a good way. I then started to see results in my wrestling. I had a few Nationally Ranked Wins throughout the season and some close matches with some really good guys. I ended up going as a practice partner to Nationals again, which was pretty bitter sweet not being there to wrestle. I got really close with friends and the plan is to be involved with them for life. Very grateful.

Currently, half way through my Junior year, things started out very rough for wrestling. I bumped up another weight class to 165 lbs, and it took a while to adjust to the difference. I took some bad losses but at the end of the day, when it mattered, I guess I just decided to be tough and ended up taking 2nd in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, avenging three losses in one day and winning the True Second match in Overtime to send me to the National Tournament. I am currently preparing for that, and it’s nice to be going for myself this time! Computer science classes just keep getting harder and harder, but I’m starting to see career opportunities pop up, and I’m very excited for that. I am Very grateful for the people around me.
