SLAM NV! 2023-2024 Preseason Update
Jake and I are looking forward to coaching this group of young grapplers this year. Our wrestlers do not typically take breaks, so we have not stepped off the mat in the off- season. When we look across the state we see some tough teams that are well coached, which makes us excited! Our outlook does not change. We are striving to not just be a good team, but to be a great one. This is one of the hardest working teams that we have coached at SLAM thus far. Our desire is to beat the best and do it dominantly. It is not personal in the slightest, it’s just business.
We will be led by 3x State Hopefuls Manny Saldate (11) and Josiah Maestas (12) as well as returning State Champions Brenden Agcaoili (10) Drake Hooiman (10) Gabriel Delgado (11) and Finalists Nat’aani Prado (12) and Isaac Balden (10) As coaches we strive to build character and work ethic.
This does not mean we are perfect, but we are working towards perfection as a standard. Being invited back to Pennsylvania for Powerade is a huge honor and we hope to represent Nevada as a whole. Other 5A State Qualifiers not mentioned above: Daniel Serrano (12) Dylan Tondreau (11), Destin Maestas (10), Emilio Roybal (11), Anthony Delgado (10), Connor Law (12), and Joe-Xahn Rapoza (12) Side note: Both Manny and Gabe are sitting at over 100 wins and are in a fierce race against each other to get to 210! Can’t wait to see who wins!!
