Trayle, is a Battle Born Native. He has been wrestling since the age of seven. Wrestling hasn’t been an easy journey for him. Trayle has always been tall for his age. With that, people thought he was older than he was. I remember when we were part of Team GV, for a year the coaches wrestled him against the likes of Justus Scott and Billy Sullivan. He got railed on a bit. He wasn’t really enjoying it that much. I had to express to him that you can do hard things, and to stick with it.

As a father most of us want our boys to grow up to be strong men. I sure made a lot of mistakes with him. His first year, I was out of town as usual. I wanted him to compete in his first tournament. He didn’t want to. He was in tears; his mom was in tears. After some convincing, he did it anyway. He ended up losing. It took a lot of work to keep him going. Wrestling played a LARGE role in my life. I was just wanting to pass that on to him. To his credit, he stuck with it.

Trayle has always had friends, but not a close wrestling friend that I feel is important to have. I searched to help find him one. I introduced him to Christian. He comes from a wonderful family that’s totally dedicated to their kids. Just like we are. They worked out in their garage and the two of them developed a bond that lasts to this day. Coming into his 7th grade year, Trayle decided he wanted to play basketball with Christian. I was a little crushed. He played okay, and was good at rebounding. He had a hard time getting on the floor because he didn’t understand where to be. In hindsight, it was probably a good thing for him to realize he was a lot better at wrestling.

Trayle, grew up in the Cimarron Bad Boy Wrestling Club. With good coaches like Roddy Rieger, Doyne Pickett and George Morales. We loved the coaches and parents. It was a good fit for us. We left onr year for team GV for practice partners his size, but we decided to go back to the Bad Boys.

Trayle has won a lot of tournaments over the years.
He’s also taken his share of losses. He now wrestles for 5A Spring Valley HS, with Coach Fred Meyer. He loves him. I think they’re like “Pea’s in a Pod.” This year he was a finalist at States. He was up 9-0 and unfortunately did an illegal mat return and his opponents shoulder got hurt. The opponent was unable to continue, and therefore, Trayle was disqualified. He took 4th the year before as a Sophomore, and like everyone he lost his Freshman season due to Covid.

Trayle also works with Aniciete Training Club in the off-season.
Coaches Nap, Val, Alex, Bob and Ant do amazing things for our kids. They’ve played a BIG part in our kid’s development. Trayle has a desire to wrestle at the next level in College. If he can’t find a home somewhere else, he will stay and go wrestle for UNLV. He wants to be a Paramedic/Firefighter.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Trayle. He is one the main reasons why his siblings are doing well. He’s helped build a culture in our family. He’s always there for them. I apologize for not being the best wrestling parent. Wrestling is still teaching me things all these years later. I’m very proud of you. Nana, told me what you told her. “I used to wrestle for my Dad, now I’m wrestling for me.” Man…I can’t express how happy that has made me. Trayle also does well off the mat. He is and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and he has already baptized two members.
