Carson was destined to be a wrestler as George Anne Ritter, his grandmother, was the USA State Chairperson for 19 years and lived and breathed the sport. His parents never missed attending a practice or tournament, and if one could not be there, his grandfather, Jim Ritter, would be at the mat.

Carson began wrestling at the age of 4. He participated in his first tournament January 26, 2013. Carson won his first match and when his name was announced for his next match, he cried and did not want to wrestle, but his dad picked him up and took him to the mat. He took First Place and never cried again in his eleven year journey.

Carson has had many coaches along the way that have influenced his wrestling. To name a few: Russ Allyn, Jeff Prinz, Trey Edmunds, Ed Sorgani, Jeromy Mumm, Nacho Ruiz, Joe Imelli, Wade Workman, Evan Brandt, Andrew Sullivan, Dan Shaw, and Trever DeBraga. He began wrestling for the Fallon Youth Greenwave in 2012, and he never wanted to stop wrestling when the season was over, so his parents found a year-round team and began ten years of driving to Reno to have Carson wrestle for Northwest Knights. He also wrestled for Hard Work Academy, Nevada Elite, Spanish Springs, and Outlaws. Carson has always put in hard work and has spent many hours at camps to prepare for tournaments. He was a Triple Crown Champion, and he placed every year in USA State and multiple times at Western Regionals, Western States, and Kids Nationals.

Carson enjoys multiple sports that although overlapped, didn’t deter him. He would play baseball on a Saturday in Elko, NV and then go to Pocatello, ID for Western States; then leave and race to Reno, NV to play in All-Star baseball tournaments. Carson always loved football, so he would take July through October off from wrestling, so he could play. Carson also enjoys hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, snowboarding, and playing video games.

Wrestling has taught Carson to work hard to achieve the best possible outcomes. He had to push himself extra at practices for the payoff. He had tough competition, and his determination and work ethic allowed him to come out on top. He was then proud of himself for all the extra running and sweating during many practices. Wrestling has pushed him to have a drive to do better in order to accomplish something he wants. There is always that wrestler, or, team to beat.

This year for the Fallon Greenwave as a Freshman, he became the 3A, 120 pound State Champion (18-0) and for his 8th grade season he was 44-7. He will continue wrestling through the summer until football begins.
