Mason Hallert is an 11 year old multi-sport athlete that is currently in the 6th grade. He attends Pinecrest Academy in Spanish Springs, Nevada. Mason began playing sports at the age of five. On the football field, Mason plays for the SYFL’s Spanish Springs Cougars where he excels on both sides of the ball. In 2021, Mason was named the Defensive Player of the Year on his team, and he was also chosen to play in the All-Star Game.
 
When off the field, Mason loves to compete in grappling sports. He is a Gray Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under his father, Professor Jerry Hallert. Mason has competed and won, or placed, in multiple Local and National tournaments.
 
On the wrestling mat, Mason currently wrestles for Joey Ghione and Silver State Wrestling Academy, and Legacy NV Wrestling. This season Mason has a 20-2 record, and he recently won the Northern, Nevada Regional Championship in the 12U, 74 pound division. Mason has placed at multiple RMN (Rocky Mountain National) events and the Nevada State Championships, every year that he has competed since the age of 6.
 
Mason has shown to be a leader both on and off the field. He is always one of the hardest workers on any team he is a part of, and he supports his friends and teammates in a positive way. On top of his athletic accomplishments, Mason is also a phenomenal Student-Athlete where he consistently carries a 3.8 GPA and understands the importance of working hard at everything he does.
 
Mason hopes to one day play in the NFL or wrestle for Cael Sanderson at Penn State.
