Wrestling has presented me with so many great opportunities in my life. While I am so grateful for my time as the Head Coach at Valley High School and what we accomplished there, I am humbled and very excited to be taking over the Bishop Gorman Wrestling Program. From my arrival in Las Vegas ten years ago, I almost immediately heard of the powerhouse that was Bishop Gorman athletics. Having the opportunity to step into that environment is something I take great pride in. While I love my identity as a wrestling coach, my true identity is as a Christian, and Gorman is a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught and valued above everything else.

With Covid ultimately sabotaging last season, I am looking forward to coaching again and getting our kids back on the mat. We had our first Gorman Wrestling Summer Camp at the end of July, which produced a great turnout and provided coaches and students the opportunity to get acclimated to working with one another. Currently we are prepping for the season, practicing 4x/week and planning to attend some Preseason Tournaments. It has felt somewhat like a return to normalcy, being back in my wrestling room running practice. We are putting together a tremendous coaching staff that will benefit our athletes at every level. It has been an awesome experience being around the Gael Culture and the strong emphasis on excelling both in the classroom and on the athletic front. Last week, I went to my first Gorman football game and was not disappointed. It was a packed house with an awesome atmosphere. I cannot wait to bring a little bit of that excitement to the wrestling program.

I always have lofty goals for both myself and my team. Looking up at all the State Championship banners in The House of Glory is a daily reminder of the History of Excellence at Bishop Gorman. Growing and establishing a winning program that does things right on and off the mat is our main focus. We are hoping to establish a strong youth program that opens the doors to our younger community and allows them to get a glimpse of the future. Wrestling has been my life for 20+ years, and I am so excited to provide year round opportunities to our kids that will help mold them for success in life. There is a lot of pride in Bishop Gorman athletics but also a very strong family feel. I am looking forward to adding wrestling to the list of championship caliber programs that are part of the Gael values and mission.
